Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act 1994
Section 19. Duties of employers
States that: An employer shall, so far as is practicable, provide and maintain a working environment in which the employees of the employer (the employees) are not exposed to hazards.
Employees and employers have an obligation to comply with the requirements of the OHS Act and other legislation and can be persecuted for any breaches.
